They call it improving business and making themselves more saleable when an artist decides to alter his/her appearance.

Nollywood artists take after their overseas counterparts in Hollywood, Bollywood and Chinawood (if that exists) to surgically lift here and there on their bodies and faces with the intention of looking more spectacular on the camera (most of them are already good looking even without going under the knife).

Apparently, Michael Jackson's fate has not taught many of them useful lessons. The man could have made the surgery market abhorring with his legendary falling nose and a face that was lost between that of a white woman, genetically altered chimp, just plastic doll in the boutique, to something of other worlds. Maybe these artists are not dumb and are being careful how many times they allow the surgeon to cut their noses and fix them back again.

Nollywood is being slowly influenced by American trends. Celebrities – actresses, models, singers and public figures have had plastic surgery. Some of them have admitted to this while others deny this fact, indicating that Africa has not fully signed up with this fresh idea.  The culture of altering natural appearance has not been fully integrated into the African mentality. The following are alleged to have either scraped a broad nose into a slimmer, finer one or reduced a huge lip into a more presentable shape, and so on and so forth.

Regina Adeola
This Nigerian singer reportedly had a surgical procedure worth $80, 000. She wanted to have Angelina Jolie's lips. After surgery, she also spent $5,000 for healing.

Rukky Sanda
Super attractive actress, Rukky Sanda, admitted to having a buttocks injection. She confirmed that her nose was done as well. She also told her fans that plastic surgery is not a sin.

Ebube Nwango
This actress was accused of getting her breasts done. But she denied these rumors.

Karen Igho
Karen had her breasts done due to cancer. She doesn't deny this fact and happily declared that all the processes were done and that she is cancer free now.

Uche Jombo
This actress was said to have done a nose job. She denied that fact. But then, another story surfaced – she had her teeth done. And that fact she couldn't deny. Her teeth obviously changed in shape and color.

Tiwa Savage
It was revealed that she had done a nose job. Now her nose looks much slimmer than it used to be. But she prefers to keep silent about it. There are rumours that it was just a make-up trick though.

Dabota Lawson
Ex-beauty queen and actress, Dabota Lawson, doesn't deny the fact that she had plastic surgery. But she is not talking a lot about it too. The model and actress had done a nose job and liposuction. The whole procedure reportedly cost her nearly $30,000.
